If you are looking to find the right kind of font /typeface for designing your book, your website logo, for an handwritten invitation letter or a font for annotating an illustration, this flowchart from graphic designer Julian Hansen should come handy. Start from the center of the flowchart, pick the type of your design project – it could be a logo, a book or something else – answer a couple of (sometimes funny) questions and you will quickly discover the most appropriate font family for your project. Julian has considered only the top 100 fonts for her typeface selection chart and you may therefore not find every single font here.

I n the case study highlighting the online community engagement strategy that Greater Taree City Council use d to gather opinion on a “Smoke Free Taree” we wrote that: “The decision to introduce the proposal means that smoking will be banned at all Council facilities, sporting grounds, children’s playgrounds, alfresco dining area, beaches, parks and reserves, at all Council run or sponsored events, public carparks, covered bus stops and taxi ranks.” In fact, the Councils Smoke-Free Area Environment Policy has far more definition and been given greater attention to detail. It follows: Councils Smoke-Free Environment Policy extends to: Within 10 (ten) metres of all children’s playgrounds Within 10 (ten) metres of Council playing fields, sporting grounds and at outdoor sporting facilities On all land used for alfresco dining At all events run or sponsored by Council Within 10 (ten) metres of Council owned building entrances; and At all covered bus stops and taxi ranks The following areas HAVE NOT been included: All ocean and harbour beaches In all bushland, parks, reserves and public plazas In all Council car parks

VicRoads has launched an online consultation about the future of Hoddle Street (pictured below) in Melbourne’s east . The overarching goal of the Austin Climate Protection Program is to make Austin the leading city in the US in the fight against climate change. In February 2007, the City Council passed a resolution that directed the City to begin taking action to respond to climate change.

The Strategic Community Plan is the annual planning document for Warringah and contains a ten year strategic direction and financial forecast including: Proposed operational budget 2010-2011 Proposed budget and service delivery for 2010-2014 Proposed Fees and Charges for 2010-2011 Council have asked the community to think about the main issues confronting the area over the next ten years; anything that might be changed in plan; what are the strengths and weaknesses of the draft plan; and finally, what services would people be prepared to see reduced in order to maintain Council’s financial strength

Willoughby City Council in Sydney’s north has this afternoon launched an online discussion about its draft Smoke Free Environment Policy . This is the third such online consultation we have seen recently, with Bega Valley Shire having a similar conversation right now , and Greater Taree having hosted a similar discussion up until a couple of weeks ago . The objectives of Willoughby City Council in banning smoking in various Council areas is to: Improve the health of community members; Improve public amenity and maintenance of Council property; Raise community awareness of the issues associated with smoking; Provide community leadership in taking measures to protect the health and social wellbeing of the community; and Minimise cigarette butt pollution on Council owned beaches, waterways, parks and other open space areas
