Can I Make Money Blogging? – Does This Close the Door to More "Reputable" Writing Opportunities?

Dear Jodee, I’ve been writing for magazines for a long time, but with the print media struggling to retain readers gigs are harder to get, so I thought I’d investigate writing for on-line sources. From reading e-books and “pro” Blogger sites it seemed that a reasonable income could be earned this way. Some of the professional writer sites (not just bloggers) decry the skill levels of most Blogger forums and state that participating in them will actually hurt a good writer’s ability to get assignments from more reputable publishers.

Getting Down To Business

I’m feeling motivational today.  You might think that motivation is for wimps and losers.  You might think that motivation is cheesy.  You might want to think again.  Affiliate Marketing can be a very isolated industry.  Communication is all done over wires and screens, and it’s every man for himself out there.  You don’t have a manager telling you what to do.  You don’t have anyone setting goals for you.  If you aren’t careful, you can slip into a downward spiral very quickly when things go wrong. I’m a firm believer in goals.  You have to set them, write them down on paper, and put them somewhere you can see them every day.  I have never missed a goal that I have written down this way.  Try it, you might surprise yourself.

Young people on social networks

SEO Changes From the Leaders

Effective marketing requires a knowledge of both search engine optimization (getting your web site ranked on the first page of Google and other search engines) as well as Pay-Per-Click marketing. If you haven’t strengthened your knowledge in each of these areas, I recommend that you consider doing so. This past week, both Google and Yahoo! made pretty significant announcements

Strategic Measures–Toward New Measures for a Sustainable, Knowledge Economy

Also available at: http://danielwrasmus.wordpress.com/ As America grasps for innovative ways to exit the recession, we have forgotten a fundamental business reality: measurement determines behavior. Ask any sales person if their bonus structure determines which products they lead with or not.
