A Stitchy Update

Greetings one and all, sorry its been so long since my last update (well long for me at least).  Last week turned out to be a busy and exhausting week (I’ve gone into more detail on it here)!  This week as also been busy thus I’ve not stitched as much as I would like!  Sometimes when I barely get to stitch I wonder if that’s why I’m not feeling rested and happy? This past weekend was the Annual

Free Candlewicking Pumpkin Motif

I was shopping today in my local mercantile (actually Wal-mart, but mercantile reminds me of Little House on the Prairie and I am being nostalgic today.) They had a huge aisle of Halloween candy already set up. The one that caught my eye was this huge brain-shaped bubble gum blob – gross! I passed two girls as I exited the aisle on my way to the snack aisle – I was on a quest for almonds

Cut the Cake Ornament

About.com Needlepoint Guide Cheryl Fall has some wonderful, cute designs that I love to ooh and ahh over. And, even better than that, Cheryl Fall has designs for Needlepoint that are also easily adapted for Cross Stitch! Recently Cheryl had not one but two weddings to help with! It’s no wonder that her design skills were tuned to that topic.

Art Deco Spirits Update

I was hoping to have the “Earth” section of Art Deco Spirits finished this week but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.  Life got busy this week and I can probably count the number of hours I’ve found to stitch on one hand.  I really only have myself to blame I got myself busy, probably worked out/ran a little too much.  I’m feeling a bit burnt out, and just need to try to slow down and

Free Flower Trio Cross Stitch Pattern

Flowers are blooming all around – most of them in my little flower bed are from weeds right now, but I still enjoy looking out at them. It has been super hot lately at my house, but it has still been raining, so the grass and weeds have been taking off. We ended up mowing only around the house this past week

Cross Stitch Tips for Beginners

StillWater2 shared the following tip for beginning stitchers recently: When I first started stitching, I had problems with what to do with thread ends on the back of my projects. I found the easiest way to fix this was to use the smallest crochet hook I could find and weave those ends under the backs of the stitches and then trim off the tiny ends that are left.

Dreary Sundays Are Great Stitching Days

After such a long, busy day yesterday (I was home for all of 30 minutes between 9am and 11:30PM) it was nice to be “stuck” in the house by rain and thunderstorms.  This way I wasn’t tempted to do anything else but watch TV (Christin has lent me all the seasons of Stargate SG1 to watch) and stitch. ‘Tis Greenc2010 La-D-Da Just Cross Stitch Ornament Preview IssueStitched on 32ct Queen Ann’s Lace

Another Small Finish

As I’ve mentioned in past entries this year, my desire is to finish the things I have started!  Projects that are sitting in my stitching basket, some for a very long time! First up my small finish!  I can’t remember when I started this, I know it was sometime this year.  For some reason with this piece I just kept dragging my feet!  Well I buckled down this week and got it finished! Welcome

Images From Georgian Bay

For the first week of my holidays I hopped into my car and drove 5.5 hours west from my home to the Port Severn area of Georgian Bay (Ontario).  After Sheila inviting my circle of stitching friends up for a mini-getaway in June, I called her up a few weeks later and boldly invited myself up for a visit during my summer holidays.  I was very lucky, and Sheila agreed for me to come up for a few
