I got in late last night from the Underground Seminar event in DC – yes finally, after several flight delays and an unexpected overnight stay at the Hyatt! – so I’m just sitting down to my desk this morning for the first time in 6 days… What a mess! While my desk space is actually clean, well – after I went through the stack of mail at least, I was a bit overwhelmed at the number of Firefox windows and tabs I left open. Everything from PDF files to blog posts to things I was in the middle of when I left last week.

So, Barcelona’s Big Snow disappeared in a single day, more or less, and we were back to spring colours. Boyf and I then ventured out for a couple of days to Girona, which is very different in atmosphere – much quieter, apart from all the building work going on.

I finally unboxed my newest office gadget, a wireless printer I ordered online from Amazon: HP OfficeJet 6500 All-In-One Wireless Printer/Fax/Copier (Yes I know, I can be slow on these things! ) This particular HP model wireless printer is currently on special offer at Amazon.com for only $125.43 (normally $246), free shipping. The cool thing is, it was a breeze to set up – and I even did it myself! It only took me a few minutes from unboxing to ready-to-use. And I have a quick slideshow of the entire process: HP Officejet 6500 Wireless HP Officejet 6500 Wireless HP Officejet 6500 Wireless HP Officejet 6500 Wireless HP Officejet 6500 Wireless HP Officejet 6500 Wireless HP Officejet 6500 Wireless I couldn’t resist the great opportunity to use the Slickr Flickr plugin again! *************** The accessories that you see in the photo are: HP Advanced Photo Paper, glossy 8.5
It’s free day in Barcelona’s museums today, so we popped into the Museum of the History of Catalunya to try to get a grip of the region’s past. But I was distracted, as usual, by bits and bobs: a bar tableau that isn’t so different from some of the ones you can find down alleyways (but that I am a bit too wimpy to go into as a non-local); a table footy game; and a rather strange tableau of giant textile worker dolls in the lobby… Yesterday we discovered how the city’s Dalek-like recycling bins are emptied (via a rather neat trap-door system).

In my ongoing effort to “mock the 9-to-5″ I spent Hump Day this week having an awesome Sushi lunch at Sekisui in Chattanooga, TN with my good friend Zack (aka @TechShaman on Twitter). Zack and I originally met at a local meet-up a couple of years ago. While the group is no longer meeting, we’ve made it a point to keep in touch and meet up for lunch when we can

At the NAMS Workshop a few weeks ago, I had a conversation with Glennette of Premium Web Design about affiliate marketing, and specifically how to incorporate it seamlessly into a service-based business to create passive income opportunities. I started out online with a service-based business myself, and did well with Affiliate Marketing on the backend of that service model. I ultimately stopped offering my web dev services and became a full-time Super Affiliate .

Guest Post by Adriana Copaceanu Before you start any marketing for your home business these days, you need to do your keyword research. More days out with the boys… On Saturday we went out into the countryside an hour an a half from Barcelona. The occasion: a calçotada, or feast devoted to the spring onion like veggies that are hugely popular in Catalunya at this time of year

I haven’t forgotten – but the writing is taking over a bit, plus the weather was bad for two days and nowhere is photogenic in the rain (not like in the movies, eh?). The top picture is of the challenges I’ve been completing with the pedometer on my new iPod – I must admit I am a complete sucker for that kind of thing, currently working my way through a box of chocolates (and a very small box at that) which takes 28,000 steps! Middle one is of the delicious goat’s cheese I bought from La Seu to welcome boyf back from the UK (don’t you love the texture of the greaseproof paper, and the creamy colour of the cheese through it). And the other two views from the seventh floor at the language school

This is one of my favourite buildings, and today it looked terrific in the sunshine. It’s the Hivernacle in the Ciutadella Park, and I love the way its design echoes the design of the inverted u-shaped Umbracle (shade garden/palm house) that you can just see in the distance in the first picture, and also the shape of the market that is being refurbished by our flat.
