Honking! Honking! Honking!

I am so irritated with the amount of Honking that happens on the roads of Bangalore – it just amazes me how rude and inconsiderate people are when you are in front of them and are trying your best not to fly over a speed breaker or trying to avoid a ditch – how they think that it is their right to overtake from the left hand side – how comfortable they are not following rules and honking to rudely communicate that you should not follow them yourself. My biggest concern is the damage that all the noise pollution and the impatience causes to our children.  They are growing up thinking that the road is a place where one has to be on a war-footing

Researcher: we’re not doing enough to track oil spill

The US has a fleet of research vessels that it could deploy to monitor the spread of oil trough the Gulf of Mexico, and deploying them would cost a few million dollars or less. That argument comes courtesy of the University of California’s David Valentine, who makes a plea for action in an editorial released by Nature over the weekend. Although most of the editorial focuses on what the vessels might do to track the size and spread of the spill, Valentine wraps up by poi…

GruntDoc.com: content provider to many blogs…

And these are just the ones that link back to me: I obscured the names of the other blogs, as I don’t want to incriminate them for being so silly as to re-run my posts. (I am aware of the irony that I’m doing little original writing right now, doing a lot more linking with minor, banal commentary, and that’s when more people grab my posts.) Google TV: Coming To Your Living Room

Google is at it again. Big Pharma is Betting on Emerging Markets to Lift Profits

It is no secret that growth of the pharmaceutical industry has slowed to single digits in the past five years or more. In fact, many experts don’t expect there to be double digit growth in this sector for a long time. Instead, future robust growth of the pharmaceutical industry is expected to take place in emerging markets including India, China, Brazil, South Africa and others. This is because the economies of these countries are booming and the middle class in these nations continues to r…
