Freelance Writing Jobs – May 4th, 2010

I’m pretty unhappy with that bright yellow orb that sticks up in the big blue ceiling all day, and I don’t know what its purpose is. I’m convinced that it’s sinister. As a typical cynical East Coaster with six months’ worth of nasty gray sky, I don’t handle spring well

MyAds Minimum Bid Price Is Now 1 Penny

MySpace MyAds has never been as popular as Facebook Ads .  One of the major reasons is that overall, the traffic quality doesn’t seem to be as good as Facebook.  That, coupled with a $0.25 minimum CPC on MyAds, led to Facebook taking the lead early on.  But the times, they are a-changin’…  I personally am sick of getting my ads rejected under Facebook’s stricter policies, and will definitely be giving MyAds another try. Now that the minimum bid price is only $0.01 on MyAds, with the right targeting and a high CTR, it should be more than possible to get a very positive ROI.  Keep in mind that a lot of MySpace users these days are of a younger age, since most adults have moved on to Facebook. Try promoting offers that would appeal to the youngsters.

Does Leadership Change in a Web 2.0 World?

(Editor’s note: This post is part of a six-week blog series on how leadership might look in the future . The conversations generated by these posts will help shape the agenda of a symposium on the topic in June 2010, hosted by HBS’s Nitin Nohria , Rakesh Khurana , and Scott Snook .) I recently heard a retired general, a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, quoted as saying the only way he knew what was really happening was to be with his troops in the jungle. He was famously absent from staff meetings, wanting to be in the middle of the action

Keeping It Real! by Alice Seba

Guest post by Alice Seba of Contentrix.com In this day and age of the social web, you’ve no doubt heard the buzz words when it comes to online business: Transparency Connections Relationships Engagement …and the list goes on and on. Those are all feel-good things and even desirable things in an online relationship, but unless you keep those things in line with your business objectives…you’re going to end up with a bunch of “friends” and a still empty bank account. But before we get into talking about your business objectives, let’s start by thing about why staying real is good for your long term business strategy: You’re a real flesh-and-blood person…not some faceless corporation projecting a corporate image

Nothing says “Touch Me” quite like a baby. Whether it is their pinchable cheeks, little feet or that ticklish belly, almost everyone loves babies. Sometimes we love them so much that we want to touch them, whether or not we know who the kid is
